Full Time - Columbus / Starkville, MS

This position will have the opportunity for out of town work at various locations in the Southeast. Assignment to out of town crews is voluntary and not required for employment or advancement.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN CONSTRUCTION
MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE AND PASS A DRUG TEST

Requires at least two years experience of the following responsibilities:

• Operate tandem and trailer dump trucks.

• Responsible for maintenance, pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers, including but not limited to checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls.

• Ability to secure loads according to standards.

• Be familiar with DOT regulations regarding the safe operation and required DOT documentation required while driving truck.

• Experience with roll-off dumpsters is a plus.

• Work safely at all times surrounded by unpredictable field conditions, continuously moving vehicles, equipment, and adverse weather conditions.

• Be aware of your surroundings while operating truck safely.

• Understanding the potential liability of personal actions and work behaviors.

• Responsibility for completing paperwork and submitting in a timely manner.

• Develop and maintain positive public relations.

• Provide courteous, prompt, and complete services to customers.

• Verify all shipping documentation against the load information provided by dispatch.

• Note in writing any overages, shortages or damage and seal intact when arriving at delivery.

• Performs roadside inspections as required by the law, various administrative agency regulations and company policy.

• Report highway safety hazards observed.

• Sweep or wash out trailers, keep tractor in clean condition.
